The specialized ultrafiltration ceramic membrane equipment for refined orange juice, with a daily capacity of 200 tons developed by Huaci Technology, has been operating stably in Europe. Ceramic membrane technology is an efficient industrial solution for orange juice clarification and sterilization. Centered on ultrafiltration ceramic membranes and utilizing a cross-flow microfiltration process, this technology enables low-temperature physical separation throughout the entire process. It replaces traditional diatomaceous earth and gelatin-silica sol filtration methods, making it ideally suited for large-scale orange juice production.
Technical Features
- Precise and Efficient Separation: The ultrafiltration membrane achieves precise screening, completing both clarification and sterilization in a single step. The retention rate for pectin and bacteria exceeds 98%, and the filtrate transmittance is ≥95%. This replaces multiple traditional filtration steps, increasing efficiency by 2–3 times.
- Low-Temperature Physical Separation to Preserve Nutrition and Flavor: Cold filtration is maintained at 25–35°C throughout the process without any chemical additives. This prevents the volatilization of flavor compounds and the loss of Vitamin C, significantly reduces the browning index, and retains the original taste and nutritional value of the orange juice.
- Fouling Resistance, Easy Cleaning, and High Stability: Ceramic membranes are resistant to acids, alkalis, and high temperatures, and possess high mechanical strength, making them well-suited for the high-pectin and high-viscosity characteristics of orange juice. After standard CIP cleaning, flux recovery exceeds 95%, and the membrane elements have a long service life with repeatable regeneration capabilities.
- Cross-Flow Filtration to Prevent Fouling for Continuous Production: The feed liquid flows at high velocity along the membrane surface, carrying away retained pulp and pectin with the concentrate stream. This prevents filter cake accumulation and enables 24-hour continuous operation, meeting the mass production demands of large-scale processing plants.
- Flexible Process with High Added Value: Supports dual modes of full circulation and concentration, enabling precise separation of clear juice and fruit pulp. The retained pectin and dietary fiber can be recovered and reused, enhancing the overall added value of orange juice processing.
